No idea what those are. I am new to whole mac thing. Because it didn't tell me where the problem was.As I've said before, I love the simplicity of Time Machine, though presenting an error message like this is not very helpful. June 10, 2008 at 9:41 PM Kent Steen said...

The external hard drive that I run my Time Machine on has to be connected to a high speed USB port and someone had changed it to a low speed port. So, i ran time machine again and excluded the one whole drive that it last referenced as having the gibberish file i couldn't find on it that caused the error and Fire, theft, multiple disk failures, other hardware failure, floods, user negligence etc.

The only comment / complaint that I have since the ML OS X upgrade is that TM now takes at least 20 to 30 seconds before I can click/select a backup.I It is so useful even though I don't use Time machine.: )Why don't you read "Playing Media Rant - when will this get better?" comment? You can filter the logs for "backupd" and it should show you where the problem is.If that still doesn't give you an indication, you're probably best off reformatting that drive partition Attached Images Screen shot 2011-04-02 at 3.14.22 PM.png (71.2 KB, 21 views) Screen shot 2011-04-02 at 3.14.15 PM.png (138.2 KB, 21 views) Screen shot 2011-04-02 at 3.14.01 PM.png (34.3 KB, 20 November 18, 2008 at 9:26 PM Anonymous said...
