Time Machine Error 45 Goflex
I called Apple Care for help because I purchased the service with the computer.I went through a series of tech's who walked me through different solutions. It's possible that a backup of 400GB of files may not start unless you have 600GB of space. Is it possible things have changed and the routine no longer works? Trust me. You shouldn't move any hard drive while its spinning. Like you, I'd settle for some error messages that gave me a chance of figuring out what's really wrong.... Basically tricking time machine to use those settings.
There also aren't any files in the sparsebundle, only a ‘bands' folder, info.bckup and info.plist, and ‘token'. Reply KPO'M 8/17/08 12:05 PM I have tried deleting the "in progress" file, but Finder hangs up when doing so. If you can, while viewing that folder in the Finder, start Time Machine. Have typed tail -f /var/log/fsck_hfs.log and waited for almost a week. So indeed, the flaw is not in the drive, but in the Time Machine software.
